A 2023-2024 Retrospective

Hello everyone! Welcome to this new section of our website, dedicated to updates on all things related to the ASU Chess Club and Team.

The 2023-2024 academic year was a period of transition and growth for us, marked by the introduction of a new team of officers, myself included. Together, we successfully organized 9 ASU Opens, 5 rapid and blitz tournaments, and were also able to upgrade our playing conditions with new weighted sets and pieces along with a more spacious tournament venue.

Thank you to all of our recurring players for your support! Because of your contributions, we were able to send the ASU chess team to both the 2024 Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championship and the Las Vegas International Chess Festival last year!

Finally, registration for all of our 2024-2025 events has been posted and we hope to see you at these and future tournaments. Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on another exciting year of chess!
